As the winter trudges along February is right around the corner which means the start of baseball season. The weekend of February 14 marks the start of the season with a full slate of games. Teams are finalizing their lineups and rotations in anticipation for those first cold weekend series.
2019 Final Standings
The 2019 season saw the eventual NCAA Champions Vanderbilt win the East and Mississippi State and Arkansas tie for the West. Arkansas swept the Bulldogs during the regular season.
Tennessee was the surprise of the East, continuing some of the momentum they gained with strong non-conference play. Florida was a disappointment as they were never able to figure it out and make a solid run during the season.
The West was stacked with five teams posting a winning record inside conference play. Auburn just missed out on a .500 record but ended the season in Omaha in the College World Series.
2020 Projected Standings

- Florida
- South Carolina
- Missouri
- Tennessee
- Kentucky
SEC West
- Arkansas
- Mississippi State
- Auburn
- LSU
- Texas A&M

Vanderbilt once again returns a strong team along with the top recruiting class. They are all set to take on the East and sit atop in 2020.
The gap for second shouldn’t be so drastic this season. Florida is much improved and also is bringing in the nation’s third-best recruiting class. Georgia and Florida will be the two teams in contention with Vanderbilt for the top spot.
The West shapes up to look similar to a season ago. Arkansas and Mississippi State should be atop the conference but Auburn will be right behind them and could find themselves in the top two. LSU has a load of offense to replace from a season ago.
South Carolina is much improved and should be in place to make the NCAA Tournament this season. They’ll be a middle of the pack along with Texas A&M and Ole Miss. The conference should be in place to put around nine or ten teams into the NCAA Tournament again this season.
