Women’s World Cup Week 2

Group A

France has a good lead with six points and a goal differential of five. Norway follows with three points and a goal differential of two. Nigeria also has three points but a goal differential of minus one. South Korea is placed in last with zero points and has a minus six goal differential.
France will finish out the group stage with Nigeria on Monday, June 17 at 3:00 pm EST., while Norway will play South Korea at the same time. If France wins, it will secure their position for first in the group, and Norway will follow in second.

Group B

Germany is the leader for group B with six points and a goal differential of two. Spain follows second with three points and a goal difference of one. China is a close third with three points and a zero-goal differential. South Africa has zero points with a minus-three goal differential.
Germany will finish out their group stage against South Africa on Monday, June 17 at 12:00 pm EST. This will most likely secure their positions for first and last. Spain will face China at the same time. This game will differentiate who is second and third for the group.

Group C

Italy leads with points and a goal differential of six. Brazil has three points and a goal differential of two to place in second. Australia follows with three points and a goal differential of zero. Jamaica is in last with zero points and a minus eight-goal differential.
Italy will play Brazil on Tuesday, June 18 at 3:00 pm EST. This will give Brazil an opportunity to place for first. Australia will play Jamaica at the same time. If Brazil loses their game against Italy this could give Australia a chance to place in second.

Group D

England is first with six points and a goal differential of two. Japan follows with four points and a goal difference of one. Argentina is placed third with one point and a minus-one goal differential. Finally, Scotland is in last with zero points and a minus-two goal difference.

England and Japan will face off on Wednesday, June 19 at 3:00 pm EST to finalize their positions. Scotland will play against Argentina at the same time to place them in third or fourth place for the group stage.

Group E

Netherlands leads group E with three points and a goal differential of one. Canada is in second with the same exact statistics as the Netherlands. New Zealand is in third with zero points and a goal differential of minus one. Cameroon is in last with the same statistics as New Zealand.
The Netherlands will play Cameroon on Saturday, June 15 at 9:00 am EST. This game has the potential of helping secure their positions in first and last while going into week three of the group stages. New Zealand will play Canada at the same time. This game will differentiate the second and third places.

Group F

The United States places in first with three points and a goal differential of 13. Sweden comes in second with three points and a goal differential of two. Chile comes in third with zero points and a minus-two differential. Thailand comes in last with zero points and a goal differential of minus 13.
The U.S. will play Chile on Sunday, June 16 at 3:00 pm EST. The United States has secured a really good position to stay in first with such a large goal differential. Sweden will play Thailand on Sunday, June 16 at 9:00 pm EST. Sweden will have to win this game in order to secure their second-place position.
Week three opens with France’s game against Nigeria on Monday June 17.
