Women’s World Cup Quarterfinals Update

Women's World Cup Quarterfinals
Norway and England kicked off the Women’s World Cup Quarterfinals on Thursday, June 27. England came out strong scoring their first goal in the third minute of the game. Norway was sent home after a 0-3 defeat to England.
France and USA played Friday, June 29. In an intense beginning, Megan Rapinoe scored in the fifth minute to start the match. She scored again in the 65th minute. France got one goal back when Wéndèleine Renard scored in the 81st minute. The game ended 2-1 for the US, moving them on to play England in the semifinals.
Italy will play the Netherlands on Saturday, June 29 at 9:00 am EST. Both teams have shown both offensive and defensive strength throughout the tournament. From the statistics of this tournament, both have had equal amounts of goals for and against. It will be an interesting match to see who moves on.

Germany will face Sweden on Saturday at 12:30 pm EST. Germany hasn’t given up a goal throughout the whole tournament and has high scoring games, which will most likely mean that they are the ones to move on to the semifinals.

If the teams stay true to how they’ve played throughout the whole tournament there is a good guess on who is to move on. It will most likely be Italy and Germany playing each other, while USA for sure plays England.
