Transfer Talk: Europe’s Elite on the Move?

Publish Date: June 23, 2021

Even though soccer is in the middle of an international tournament, agents and clubs are conducting business and player transfers, even while they are not with the team. In today’s world, elite level players always have transfer rumors circling them. Players who score goals will be at the center of all talks. Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Erling Haaland are players who could be moving clubs this summer. Here is the transfer talk for these elite players and TGH will give their predicted landing spot for next season.

The English international is reportedly unhappy at Tottenham and could be on the move to another club. All the biggest clubs in Europe will be after Kane, but the leaders at the moment according to transfer talk seem to be Manchester City. The Times have reported that Manchester City could send Spurs £100million and would be willing to part with Gabriel Jesus or Raheem Sterling. Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid are all potential suitors for the striker. Kane is coming off a season where he won the Premier League’s golden boot award.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell and will try to convince the Premier League golden boot winner to stay in north London. Kane has expressed his interest to play Champions League football.

Juventus may move on from Ronaldo after a disappointing season in Italy. The Portugese star failed to win the league or advance past the round of 16 in the Champions League and now looks like could be on the move to Barcelona. Juventus and Barcelona have reported hard times financially since the COVID-19 pandemic, so this move does seem a bit unrealistic.

Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid will all be interested if Ronaldo is available for transfer this summer. The Juventus man comes with a big wage and even bigger talent even in the later stages of his career.

TGH Prediction: Ronaldo stays at Juventus

Erling Haaland

News this morning of Real Madrid agreeing to personal terms with Norwegian striker Erling Haaland should be taken with a grain of salt. First, it was reported Chelsea agreed personal terms with the striker last week. Also, clubs will be reminded of the €75 million release clause next summer and could see value in waiting another season.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona are all rumored to be interested in the Borussia Dortmund forward. Dortmund’s asking price this summer is around €175 million and they are not willing to lower their evaluation.
