It’s always beautiful to see people come together irrespective of religion, caste or creed. In a first of its kind, Chelsea will host an iftar party on March 26th, 2023 at Stamford Bridge to support all their Muslim players and fans.
The Islamic month of Holy Ramadan begins on March 22nd, 2023, and will go on ‘till April 21st, 2023. Chelsea not only has a lot of Muslim supporters and fans, but a number of players are Muslim too. To extend support to their religious viewers, Chelsea will become the first club in the premier league to host an iftar party at the stadium.
What’s Special About These Iftar Parties?
Iftar parties are considered to be one of the largest social gatherings around the world where Muslims come together to break their fast, which they observe from dawn to sunset. The purpose of the gathering is to provide Muslims with a safe place to enjoy a meal post their fast with each other. While it’s an event held for Muslims, Chelsea welcomes everyone to join in with open arms and this year at Stamford Bridge, it’ll be even more special when players join in the feast too.
This event will be in collaboration with a number of mosques, as well as Chelsea’s Muslim community. Chelsea has opened the event to schools, fans and the Chelsea FC staff. It’s going to be a refreshing change to see how people come together to show support and get closer, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
Ramadan Tent Project
This project is part of the Ramadan Tent project, an initiative started in 2013 with the aim to provide a safe space for Muslims to break their fast during Ramadan. This year marks their 10-year anniversary and watching a large club like Chelsea come out to support their initiative means a lot. You don’t need to use your blockchain tokens to bet on whether Chelsea won this round or not! They’ve gone above and beyond what any club has ever done to bring people together.
Founder of Ramadan Tent, Omar Salha is excited to collaborate with Chelsea for their 10-year celebration and is looking forward to the gathering at Stamford Bridge. With a club as large as Chelsea extending a helping hand, it’s only a matter of time before other clubs and even sports extend their support. Every Muslim deserves the opportunity to break bread with their loved ones in a safe environment.
Bringing People Together
Simon Taylor, head of the Chelsea Foundation, stated that he’s delighted about the initiative. He’s looking forward to meeting people in large numbers for the event. He believes this is the first step towards religious tolerance and the more people are exposed to these events, the closer they’ll get.If you’re anywhere near Stamford Bridge on March 26th, 2023, dropping in and watching the Pride of London live up to its name is something you wouldn’t want to miss. With this initiative, Chelsea is hoping other clubs follow suit and support the Muslim community across England and the rest of the world.
