The Seattle Seahawks are signing running back Joe Mixon to their practice squad, pending the completion of his medical evaluation after he worked out with the team on Monday, according to ESPN.
Mixon was released by the Texans this March after missing the entire 2025 season due to a foot injury. In 2024, Mixon rushed for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns, earning Pro Bowl honors in his first season with the Texans.
Mixon’s arrival is largely due to Seahawks first-round running back Jadarian Price recently being placed on injured reserve because of a chest injury. With Price on injured reserve and Zach Charbonnet still working his way back from a torn ACL, Mixon will add some much-needed stability and experience to the Seahawks’ running back room.
Emanuel Wilson and George Holani are currently the Seahawks’ top running back options, and the team also signed Velus Jones Jr. off its practice squad Saturday.
