For the Jets, this narrows down a crowded quarterback room of Bridgewater, Sam Darnold and Josh McCown to just the latter two. This likely means Darnold will be their day one starter, with McCown mentoring him as much as possible from the bench.
New York got great value for Bridgewater, who they picked up this offseason. His contract only guaranteed a $500,000 signing bonus.
Bridgewater has 6,150 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns and 22 interceptions in his career.
