PUBG Map: Vikendi

PUBG Vikendi

Erangel, Miramar and Sanhok are all apart of the world of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, where players can drop in and battle it out with each other. Each map has its own atmosphere that allows players to use their surroundings to their advantage to gain the upper hand on their opponents. Now, players can take on an all new experience in the newest addition to the PUBG world: Vikendi.

Vikendi is a snow themed map that became available to PC players in December of 2018. As of January 22, 2019, the map is now available to players on Mobile and Xbox. The new map remains in beta mode and will continue to be improved as players feel it out and give their feedback.

When compared to the size of the other three maps, this one falls in the middle. Erangel and Miramar are 8×8 maps whereas Sanhok is a smaller 4×4. Vikendi will be the first 6×6 map to be featured in the game. So, players that feel that the other maps are too big or too small will be happy to drop into a snowy middle ground.

The new map adds many new features to the gameplay, such as footprints in the snow that will allow you to track your nearby opponents. A new vehicle, the Ski-Doo, will also be dropped into this map. The Ski-Doo will allow players to traverse the snowy battlefield with ease while they are gunning down enemies. It controls similarly to motorcycles from the other maps and it allows two passengers to ride.

Along with the new map, new cosmetics will be showing up that will range from snow suits to brighter outfits that will help you stay hidden in the snow-covered terrain.

New Locations

There are also many new locations to explore in Vikendi. The one that stands out the most is the abandoned, dinosaur-themed amusement park called Dino Park. It sits in the southwest area of the map and is riddled with old rides and giant dinosaur statues that provide some interesting cover. Alongside Dino Park there are other memorable new areas like the Cosmodrome and the Winery. All of the new locations provide a new challenge for players who will have to develop new strategies to take on the terrain.

The Vikendi Experience

The new map was a great experience, and it is opening up a lot of new opportunities for the competitive side of PUBG. PUBG ESL has already had some winter themed, seasonal tournaments that have taken place in Vikendi. Three cups have taken place, the last one being on January 23.

Players have responded positively to the new map, especially with it coming out during the cold part of the year. So get out there and experience Vikendi for yourself.
