When Are Blastoise and Gardevoir Available in Pokemon Unite?

Pokemon Unite has already made big waves at launch, featuring a full roster of some of the game’s favorite Pokemon. But, the game will soon feature at least two other favorites. Blastoise and Gardevoir, along with one other mystery Pokemon, are confirmed to be coming to Pokemon Unite very soon.

Per the Pokemon Unite Twitter account on June 17, “Blastoise, Gardevoir, and other Pokémon also can’t wait to join you on Aeos Island! They won’t be battle-ready at launch, so stay tuned for more details on when they’ll arrive following the release of #PokemonUNITE on Nintendo Switch!”

Other than the fact that these two will be coming soon, not much else is currently available about the first DLC for the new Pokemon MOBA. It’s hard to imagine they will keep players waiting too long, especially as it seems that the Pokemon are already developed and gameplay ready, so this authors prediction is that this DLC will be out sometime in early August.

In addition to not having much information on Blastoise or Gardevoir’s release, we also do not know who the third Pokemon in the DLC will be or what classes/kits each will have. Based on what the game has done with similar characters thus far, its likely that Blastoise will be a Defender, potentially with ranged ability via his Hydro Pump move. Gardevoir, on the other hand, will likely be a more supportive character, potentially healing or cleansing allies in combat. This, again, is speculative until more information comes to light.
