Torchic Description

Torchic is the first stage of the Hoenn Fire starter line. It evolves into Combusken and then Blaziken, making it the starting point for one of the most popular Fire starter evolution lines in Pokemon.

Competitive Overview

Is Torchic Good in Competitive?

Torchic is mainly used as a starter and early-game Pokemon, while its final evolution Blaziken is the major competitive threat. Torchic can still be useful during a playthrough thanks to its Fire-type attacks and access to Speed Boost when available.

Torchic’s strengths are its Fire typing, useful offensive movepool and strong evolution path. Its main issues are low early-stage stats and weaknesses to Water, Ground and Rock-type moves.
