Pokemon has released over 1,000 Pokemon since its launch back in the 1990s and the discussion for “Best Pokemon” has been a hotly debated one. We here at The Game Haus decided that we would implement a system to finally figure out which Pokemon were best for each type and then an overall one. Here is our official list of the Top 10 Best Rock-Type Pokemon of All Time.
Before you read about the Top 10 Best Rock-Type Pokemon of All Time, please note that we are doing every type, leading up to one ultimate list. To follow along, use the link below!
To come up with the Best Rock-type Pokemon we came up with a system that showed some bias from us here at TGH with our own rankings. Then we had Ai grab as many fan-made lists as possible and compile them together. Lastly, we ranked them by their stats with each receiving points based on if they were Legendary/Mythic Pokemon, Pseudo-legendary, Starters and so on. The goal was for this not to just be a popularity contest. After this, all of their points were added up and we now have this list.
Below are the Pokemon that received votes but were not in the top 10 Best Rock type Pokemon.
Onix is a Rock/Ground-type introduced in Generation I and is one of the most iconic early-game Pokémon thanks to its sheer size and intimidating appearance. While its stats aren’t overwhelming, its massive Defense and access to moves like Stealth Rock, Roar, and Sturdy make it great with an Eviolite in certain formats. Onix evolves into the powerful Steelix, but even on its own, it’s memorable and solid in the right hands. Its snake-like, rock-segmented body makes it one of the most visually unique Pokémon ever.
