In the video, they confirmed that while the game looked different and was being developed by a company named ILCA, the game would largely remain the same. There are no new mechanics that were shown in terms of the Pokemon Go feature that fans were either excited about or worried about. Instead, everything including the story will remain the same.

The interesting part about this is the art direction they decided to take. As in the original games, the characters will be smaller which brings a nostalgic feel. But they have updated the graphics to look more like Sword and Shields graphics for the Nintendo Switch. This will be a very interesting marriage and one that will likely start some conversations amongst fans.

Lastly, they did reveal that the release date for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl would be in late 2021.

It has been confirmed that Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl release date will be November 19, 2021.

The new box art has been revealed for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl with this announcement as well.
