Competitive Overview

Is Quilava Good in Competitive?

Quilava is usually a middle-evolution Fire-type Pokemon rather than a top competitive threat. Its best value comes from improved Speed and Special Attack compared with Cyndaquil, along with access to strong Fire-type attacks and basic coverage.

Quilava’s biggest strengths are moves such as Flamethrower, Eruption, Fire Blast, Flame Charge and Will-O-Wisp. Its biggest issues are limited bulk and weaknesses to Water, Ground and Rock-type moves.
