Pupitar is the middle evolution of Larvitar and Tyranitar. It is a Rock and Ground-type Pokemon with a hard shell, strong defenses and a role as the bridge between Larvitar and the powerful final evolution Tyranitar.
Competitive Overview
Pupitar is usually more of an evolution step than a major competitive Pokemon. Its Rock and Ground typing gives it strong STAB options and useful resistances, but its lower Speed and several common weaknesses can make it difficult to use in standard competitive formats.
Pupitar can still be useful in limited formats, story playthroughs or evolution-focused teams. Its main value is preparing to evolve into Tyranitar, which has much higher stats and a stronger competitive role.
