Poochyena Description

Poochyena is the first stage in the Mightyena evolution line. It is a Dark-type Pokemon known for chasing moving targets, biting anything that runs and evolving into Mightyena early during a playthrough.

Competitive Overview

Is Poochyena Good in Competitive?

Poochyena is usually used as an early evolution Pokemon rather than a finished competitive threat. Its main value comes from evolving into Mightyena, which has stronger stats and better immediate battle presence.

Poochyena can still be useful during story playthroughs thanks to Dark-type attacks, access to support moves and abilities such as Run Away, Quick Feet and Rattled. Its biggest issue is that its base stats are low compared with fully evolved Pokemon.
