We have been waiting to learn a lot more about Pokemon Pokopia since it was announced. With the release of the game a little over a week away, Nintendo has decided to feature Pokopia in a big way. Here is everything that was learned from the Nintendo Treehouse 2026 about Pokopia.

Single Player Area

  • Everyone starts with a single-player area
  • Charmander gives Ditto a Leppa Berry
  • Professor Tangrowth will give you advice and how to progress through the game if you get stuck
  • They showed that the cross-section for Water Gun is specific for that move
  • There are times when Pokemon will show up at different habitats
    • It will always show you which Pokemon you need in each one
  • The weather will also determine what Pokemon will be shown
  • Tree-shaded grass habitat shown
    • Scythe confirmed for this habitat
  • All of the items are held within Ditto
  • You can craft more than one workbench
    • You can sort your items in different ways, including by favorites
  • Showing off specialties and what Pokemon like
  • Cut is the only way you can get certain items
  • Ditto can suck up multiple items at once
  • A building will show what items you need and what Pokemon you need to build them
  • You can ask Pokemon to follow you to a certain area
  • You can have up to 5 Pokemon follow you
  • Buildings are fully on real-world time
  • Scyther can create lumber as well
    • Pokemon are able to do multiple tasks
  • You can move things wherever you want, even after placing them
  • The PC has multiple options
    • You can see the environment level
      • This is each Pokemon’s comfort level
        • The Pokemon will tell you what they need to increase their comfort level
    • Challenges
    • Link Play
  • Putting a storage box next to a crafting table will draw inventory from the box instead of your character
  • Nothing that is smashed by Rock Smash actually is destroyed. It can all be reused
  • Dowsing Machine is like in the games, where it helps you find hidden items
    • Pidgey will help you find items with this machine
  • The flashing Poké Balls are confirmed to be items
    • Some of these are collectables as much as they are items to be used in the game
  • If a Pokemon’s needs are filled or they have a good interaction, then their comfort level will increase
  • The houses are much bigger on the inside than what you see in the overworld
  • Charmander will light any burnable item
  • When you build homes for Pokemon, you can move and assign them to the different ones
  • Drilbur’s ability Rototiller allows for you to pick up and move plants

Multiplayer Mode

  • There are apparently multiple multiplayer modes
  • Pallet Town confirmed
  • Up to 2-players can play in gameshare
  • The original Nintendo Switch can technically play this game as a preview with friends
  • Anything that other players build in your town stays in your town. It will not transfer to the other players’ towns
  • Magby confirmed for Pokopia
  • You can heal and get your PP all the way up at a Pokemon Center
  • Makuhita confirmed
  • 8 different main abilities are shown in the game
  • Buildings are anything with walls and at least two blocks of height
    • There are also building kits
  • Tyranitar confirmed

What is Pokemon Pokopia?

Pokemon Pokopia is a cozyfarming game released by The Pokemon Company.

In this new Pokemon title, you will play as a Ditto that has lost its trainer. You will run into Professor Tangrowth and your task will be to help and bring Pokemon and people back to an abandoned area. This will see you building, creating themed areas and completing different objectives.

This game will only be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 and will be the first Pokemon game to do so.

Pokopia can best be described as a cross between Pokemon, Minecraft, Viva Piñata and Animal Crossing. There are hints of all of these games within Pokopia.

So far, many of the previews have praised Pokopia as being enjoyable, innovative and a fresh take on Pokemon.

Quick Notes

  • Pokekmon Pokopia is available for Pre-Order and will cost $69.99 USD.
  • It will not have any Pokemon Home compatibility.
  • The Pokopia Release Date will be on March 5, 2026.
  • There is a lot more information that is expected to be revealed on Pokemon Day, February 27, 2026.
