Pokémon GO Shadow Raids Announced

Franco Aureli DiazBy Franco Aureli DiazMay 22, 20233 Mins Read

Team GO Rocket is clapping back trainers. Team GO Rocket has been a minor nuisance for trainers for a good chunk of the game’s run. However, at the end of season 10, Giovanni is now enacting his ultimate plan. This piece will go into the details of Pokémon GO’s Shadow Raids.

Team Rocket’s Rising Shadows Event is Here

Team GO Rocket’s plans come to fruition in the Rising Shadow event. They will proceed to take over multiple gyms with their Shadow Pokémon. Full-on war is coming, players. Players will be able to fight the scoundrels by participating in Shadow Raids.

During these events, trainers can take on powerful Shadow Raid Bosses and save them from the army of darkness. Of course, trainers should gather friends for a better chance at victory. And for those worrying about other raids such as Tapu Fini, rest assured, not every gym will be taken over by GO Rocket.

Be aware though, players cannot join Shadow Raids through Remote Raid passes. Shadow Raids also do not reward a team bonus for Premier Balls.

Important Shadow Raid Information

At three-star and five-star raids, Shadow Raid Bosses will grow enraged as players battle them. This will boost their attack and defense. However, as long as players have sufficient strength and back up, they will be able to weaken the bosses and subdue them. It is recommended that players bring plenty of healing items and friends.

The Power of Purification

Finally, players will get access to a new item: Purified Gems. They can them to subdue raid bosses once players construct them from Shadow Shards. Shadow Shards are mysterious gem pieces that Team GO Rocket will drop after many encounters.

If players gather enough, they can use Professor Willow’s Shard Refiner to make as many Purified Gems as they can. But that’s not all. Purified Gems can help players in multiple ways. These are the multiple ways players can use them:

Lowering the raid boss’ attack and defense

Stacking them will intensify their effect on the raid boss

If players use enough of them, they can subdue the boss and return them to a non-enraged state, giving players the edge they need.

Conclusion

Pokémon GO Shadow Raids will be a climactic time for players. Giovanni is showing his hand and it is up to players all around the world to unite and stop him. Players should take the remaining days to prepare for war. The fate of those poor Shadow Pokémon is in everyone’s hands.
