Nine new images have leaked for Generation 10, and they provide the clearest look yet at the world that was teased by the island map leak earlier this week. With Pokemon Day now just three weeks away, Pokemon Gen 10 Leaks have truly begun.
The images come from a leaker known as Grubbing Scrubbing, who appears to have at least some connection to the wider Tera Leaks. These screenshots are reportedly from a 2024 build, so none of the visuals should be treated as final. Even so, they give a strong sense of the game’s scale, terrain variety, and what the overall graphical direction could look like on Nintendo Switch 2.

The first image looks like a main city and may line up with the “capital city” location referenced in the island leak. If the setting is truly inspired by Indonesia, this could be a stand-in for Jakarta.
Even with unfinished textures, the city looks massive. There are large buildings stretching deep into the background, mountains behind the skyline, and a tall structure or spire-like centerpiece. Parts of the foreground resemble a park or open plaza area, which could help the city feel more alive and explorable.
The biggest question, especially after Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is how much functionality these buildings will have. The scale is impressive, but the key concerns will be:
Will building visuals be significantly improved compared to early builds like this?
Will interiors be accessible, or will most structures be decorative?
Will the city include meaningful gameplay space, such as wild encounters or zone-based exploration?
Regardless of those unknowns, the size alone suggests Gen 10 could feature the biggest cities the franchise has attempted, and potentially the largest map overall.
Several screenshots show improvements that fans have been asking for, even in early footage.
One image features an unfinished building with palm trees that look noticeably better than what recent Pokémon games have delivered. The palm fronds, trunk detail, and overall lighting are more convincing. Rock textures also appear sharper, and the sky looks overcast, which raises the possibility that weather could play a larger role in atmosphere and exploration.
Light reflection also stands out. Even as a work-in-progress, the way sunlight hits surfaces looks more natural than the flat lighting seen in parts of Scarlet and Violet.

One screenshot shows an icy area with snow-covered terrain and a more distinct look than the usual “gray rock” environments. There are flags or markers placed near the path and a cave entrance visible ahead, suggesting this could be a major route or important location rather than a simple background area.
This could align with one of the earlier islands rumored to feature Ice-type Pokémon. It also opens up the possibility of deeper cave systems, which could be a major emphasis in Gen 10 based on how many of these images include tunnels and entrances.
The underwater image is the standout of the set.
It strongly suggests diving is returning in Gen 10. The water lighting, reflections, coral-like colors, and rock formations look far more detailed than anything underwater-related the franchise has shown in a long time.
If underwater exploration is fully supported, it could add meaningful depth to the world design by creating multiple layers of traversal:
underwater areas
surface routes and oceans
mountains and cliffs
caves and tunnels, potentially including underwater cave systems
If executed well, that kind of layered exploration would address a major complaint about recent games: a lack of rewarding discovery and meaningful environmental depth.
A few of the later images show jungle-like areas with more dense foliage and a stronger sense of environmental detail. Even when the grass and leaves look less polished in some shots, the overall scene has more going on than the sparse environments seen in several recent Pokémon titles.
There are clear signs of elevation and topography, which matches what the island map leak suggested. These islands appear to have a lot of climbing, layered routes, and natural variation, which should make traversal feel more adventurous if movement options support it.
Several images include caves, small ponds, and natural landmarks. The repeated presence of cave entrances makes it feel likely that caves will be a major part of exploration rather than a minor side element.
One image shows a desert biome with rock formations and patches of grass under shaded areas. Even though the grass does not look finished, the idea of micro-biome detail, like vegetation clustering under trees, makes the environment feel more intentional.
Another image appears to show a swamp or bog area, potentially lining up with an early “poison swamp” island that has been discussed in leak circles. A red object in the distance could be a Pokémon Center-style outpost similar to Scarlet and Violet’s approach, where healing points are not limited to towns.
Several images have something intentionally blocked out. The most likely explanations are:
a character model
a protagonist design
a new Pokémon
a key story or gameplay element the leaker is avoiding showing clearly
Whatever is being hidden, it appears repeatedly, including inside a cave shot where lighting and environmental detail are the focus. It could be a character, but it could also be something small in the frame that the leaker wants to protect from identification.
These images are the first real look at Generation 10’s world, even if they are early-build screenshots. If the final game builds on what is shown here, several major themes are emerging:
a much larger sense of scale, including a massive main city
more varied biomes across the islands
deeper exploration potential with caves, elevation, and underwater traversal
improved lighting and texture detail, especially on foliage and water scenes
It is still unclear how much of this will be shown in the first real reveal for Pokemon Day, but the city seems like the kind of location that could appear in a trailer, likely with much more polish and rendering improvements.
With Pokémon’s 30th anniversary approaching, the expectation is that the first Gen 10 reveal will be significant. These images do not confirm everything, but they do point toward a game that is aiming to be bigger, more layered, and potentially more visually impressive than what the series has delivered in recent years.
