Metapod Description

Metapod is the evolved form of Caterpie and the middle stage before Butterfree. It is a Bug-type Pokemon known for hardening its shell while it prepares to evolve.

Competitive Overview

Is Metapod Good in Competitive?

Metapod is usually not a strong competitive Pokemon because it has low base stats and an extremely limited movepool. Its main role is as a short transitional evolution between Caterpie and Butterfree.

Metapod’s best trait is its Defense compared with Caterpie, but it generally wants to evolve into Butterfree as soon as possible for better Speed, Special Attack, abilities and usable attacking options.
