This has been one of the most odd and interesting marketing campaigns from The Pokemon Company to date. And that is saying something. After teasers across every Pokemon platform, Mega Malamar was finally officially revealed for Pokemon Legends Z-A.
The official reveal for Mega Malamar in Pokemon Legends Z-A was one of their best ones yet.
This shows the design going more to what the leaks had stated but there were some leaks just in the past few weeks that were clearly off just a bit. Malamar becomes much sleeker and the rainbow coloring shows what the hypnotic powers are much stronger.
It looks as though it will remain Psychic and Dark type but it will get a major stat boost. Where, though, is unknown as its stats are pretty similar across the board. Considering its new look and the teaser, it seems as though it will still be offensive but maybe will have some more speed as it is a more physical attacker.

As of now, we have not been shown how to get Mega Malamar in Pokemon Legends Z-A. We do have a few theories, though.
The first is that you will catch an Inkay and evolve it normally. Then Malamar will be one of the Mega Stones that we get through Quasartico or at least, through Professor Mabel.
Our second theory is that Mega Malamar will be one of the Rogue Mega Pokemon. If this is the case, then we should be able to catch it and get the Malamarite from defeating it. That being said, it feels as though because it is a Gen 6 Pokemon that it will likely be available in the Wild instead of just as a Rogue Mega.
