The world of VGC or Competitive Pokemon is changing dramatically in 2026. Some argue for the better, others are worried. Pokemon Champions is bringing with it a lot of changes, including how you will be able to get New Pokemon.
There are a few different ways to get New Pokemon in Pokemon Champions.
This has been mentioned multiple times on the official website and in one of the trailers, but you can bring your own Pokemon from Home into Champions.
There is only one issue: not all Pokemon will be available to start. At least, that is basically what is stated on the website. The exact quote is “You can bring some of your past partners into Pokemon Champions through HOME.”
That means that there will be restrictions. What these restrictions are is not currently known. Once the game releases or more is shown, likely on Pokemon Day 2026, we will make sure to get this section updated.
We have a whole VP or Victory Points Guide for Pokemon Champions, but you can use them to recruit new Pokemon.

Recruiting in Pokemon Champions
As you can see above, there are two different ways to recruit Pokemon. You can do a free trial, which looks to be 7 days or you can permanently recruit them. This will cost 1,000 VP which is not a small amount. You will have to be sure that is a Pokemon you want on your team.
With that, there will likely be more Pokemon added in the future. So, you will want to make sure that you are judicious with how you use your VP on Pokemon because it also helps you change your stats on your Pokemon.
