Clamperl Description

Clamperl is a Water-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 3. It can evolve into Huntail when traded holding a Deep Sea Tooth, or into Gorebyss when traded holding a Deep Sea Scale.

Competitive Overview

Is Clamperl Good in Competitive?

Clamperl is usually a niche competitive Pokemon, but it can be surprisingly dangerous in limited formats because of its Deep Sea Tooth and Deep Sea Scale item interactions. These items can greatly boost its attacking or defensive value depending on the set.

Clamperl’s biggest strengths are its unique evolution items, strong defensive shell theme and access to Water-type attacks. Its main issues are low Speed, limited movepool depth and the fact that it often needs heavy team support before evolving.
