Chimchar Description

Chimchar is a small Fire-type Pokemon with a flame on its tail. It is the first stage of the Sinnoh Fire starter line and evolves into Monferno, then Infernape.

Competitive Overview

Is Chimchar Good in Competitive?

Chimchar is usually more important as the first stage of the Infernape evolution line than as a fully competitive Pokemon. Its Speed and mixed offensive stats can help during early play, but its unevolved stats limit it in most higher-level formats.

Chimchar’s biggest strengths are its Fire typing, offensive move access and fast evolution into Monferno at Level 14. Players looking for stronger long-term battle value usually build toward Infernape.
