Bulbasaur Description

Bulbasaur is a Grass and Poison-type Pokemon introduced as the first Pokemon in the National Pokedex. It carries a plant bulb on its back that grows as Bulbasaur develops, eventually helping it evolve into Ivysaur and Venusaur.

Competitive Overview

Is Bulbasaur Good in Competitive?

Bulbasaur is most useful in early-game play, Little Cup formats and evolution-based teams. Its Grass and Poison typing gives it helpful resistances against Water, Electric, Fighting, Fairy and Grass-type moves.

Bulbasaur’s biggest strengths are support moves, status pressure and Chlorophyll-based Speed in sun. Its biggest issue is that its base stats are limited compared with fully evolved Pokemon, so many teams eventually evolve it into Ivysaur or Venusaur.
