Only a few hours after the reveal of Pokemon Winds and Waves, brand new leaks are already popping up, including details that could end up being major parts of Gen 10. Leaks have been coming out for weeks, and there was one posted earlier this week that a lot of people did not take seriously until today.
Now that there is official Gen 10 news, this specific leak is looking spot-on, which makes the rest of it feel a lot more believable too.
The first batch of new Pokemon Winds & Waves Leaks are coming from Light, who is a pretty well-known leaker. As always, take things with a grain of salt, but this one feels different because a key part of it just got confirmed.
The rumor originally came from 4chan and said the starters are indeed a dog, a bird, and a lizard. That is exactly what got shown in the reveal earlier today. Because of that, it feels like there is a very good chance this person was right, at least on the broad starter theme.
Ball Guy also posted about all three starter types a little over a week ago, which means there is still a chance some of this was guessing. But there were other claims in this post that ended up being correct too, and that is what makes it stand out.
The leak also said Pokemon Champions will not be available on the 27th and will not be shadow-dropped, despite what a lot of people were saying.
That ended up being right. Champions is now confirmed for April.
That is the part that almost stands out as much as the starters, because this leak was one of the only ones saying “no” so clearly when everything else was pushing a shadow drop idea.
This is the information that was not shown during the Presents, but is being claimed as real game content that will show up later, either through marketing or when the game releases.

Rebirth is described as a new mechanic where once a Pokemon faints, it can be revived with an omni-boost.
It is item-based, so the Pokemon has to be holding an item. Once it rebirths, it cannot switch out.
Some Pokemon also have special forms called reborn forms.
This lines up with what has been rumored for a long time, where the gimmick involves a god-like power or blessing that boosts Pokemon in a major way. If the 2024 Terror Leaks version of the gimmick changed, this could be the evolution of that idea.
Competitively, this sounds insane. It is basically a better Focus Sash in concept, because a Pokemon can faint, come back, and come back stronger. Sturdy Pokemon could also be in a crazy spot if it stacks the way it sounds.
A huge question is whether the Pokemon comes back with full HP, partial HP, or something else. Either way, the mechanic would change battles completely.
The leak says there are two rivals. One is named Jasper, and the other is the gender option that was not chosen.
That fits the direction Pokemon has leaned into for a while now, using multiple rivals and different relationship dynamics depending on character choice.
There is also a claim about a cute interaction when transferring a Pokemon from Fire Red and Leaf Green, and that Professor Oak is a returning character.
According to the leak, he looks much older now and has a cane. He is almost completely bald. He wears a black lab coat now with gold pockets.
If that is true, it feels like a major signal that Pokemon is intentionally connecting Winds and Waves back to the original era. Between Fire Red and Leaf Green being brought to Switch and Oak potentially returning, it adds to the idea that this could be a “rebirth” moment for the franchise beyond just the new mechanic name.
It also raises bigger questions. Is Oak just a cameo? Is he more involved? Is there some kind of twist? It is impossible to say right now, but it is one of the most interesting details in the leak.
Instead of Pokemon Amie, the leak says team interaction is hiking.
You can set up a hiking point with your Pokemon and explore with them, almost like a mix of auto-battling. You can choose which Pokemon lead the hike and play as them.
This sounds like an extension of the Synchro Machine idea that has been rumored for a while. It also fits with what the reveal trailer showed, because Winds and Waves looks like it has a lot of terrain variety and climbing.
The “hiking point” detail is interesting, because it suggests this might be a structured system with specific locations or triggers, not just a free roam toggle.
The leak also claims evolutions for several existing Pokemon.
Orthworm gets an evolution called Rustaroam, and it looks like a giant subway train with a giant midsection. It sometimes eats its own tail.
Liepard gets an evolution.
Mienshao gets an evolution.
Goldeen gets an evolution and becomes a Water and Dragon type. It looks like a giant koi fish Pokemon.
Claydol gets an evolution.
Some of these feel more believable than others.
Goldeen becoming Water and Dragon is a really cool idea, but it also raises the obvious question of what happens to Seaking if Goldeen has a new evolution path. Claydol getting love would also be a fun surprise, especially for a Gen 3 Pokemon that has always felt like it had more potential.
Orthworm evolving into a subway train is the detail that feels the strangest, but Pokemon has done weirder, and it does not automatically make the leak fake.
Most of the time, the final question is whether the leak is real or fake. This one feels real.
Two of the most important pieces lined up with official news:
the starters being a dog, a bird, and a lizard
Champions not shadow dropping and instead coming out in April
Because those were right, it makes the rest of the details feel like they are probably real too, or at least based on real information.
There is also the symbol shown alongside the leak, which looks like it could be tied to the rebirth mechanic. If that icon shows up again in future official materials, it will make this leak even stronger.
There is still so much that is unknown about Winds and Waves, and there is a long runway before release. If the rebirth mechanic is real, it is going to be one of the biggest battle system shake-ups Pokemon has ever attempted. If Professor Oak is truly returning, it adds an entirely different layer of nostalgia and timeline confirmation that a lot of fans will love.
Now the focus shifts to what comes next in official marketing, and whether any of these details start showing up in trailers, screenshots, or developer explanations in the months ahead.
