Pokémon TCG Pocket is undergoing yet another massive set of new additions, with Mega Evolution EX cards set to arrive in the new expansion, Triumphant Light. These new cards look to be incredible and will no doubt have a major impact on the strategy of the game and its coming Ranked mode. Here’s everything we know about the new card type so far and what to expect from them in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
The new Mega Evolution EX cards are one of the biggest and most game-breaking additions to Pokémon TCG Pocket that we have ever seen, featuring massive health pools, devastating attacks, and all-new mechanics.
These new cards, according to early footage, will allow your opponent to draw multiple “Prize Cards” after defeating them, along with presumably being worth two points as other EX cards are. So far, all we have seen are Mega Lucario EX and Mega Gardevoir EX, however, there may be more cards like this on the way in the future. Either way, these cards look to be incredibly tanky while still packing an incredible punch.
However, we’ll have to wait until they go live on February 28, 2025 before we know exactly how they function.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is adding a whole new expansion to the game, Triumphant Light, which goes live on February 28, 2025. This features Arceus prominently, but also has lots of other classics in the reveal trailer. You can see more about this expansion in the Pokémon Day reveal trailer, seen below.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Ranked will be coming at the end of March, according to the Pokémon Day announcement. This will allow players to climb, or tumble down, the ranks of Pokémon TCG Pocket battlers and put their decks to the true test. And, from the looks of it, this will be a permanent game mode in TCG Pocket. However, this isn’t the only major news coming to the Pokémon card-collecting game.
