The new Pokemon Pokopia DLC takes players to the Bubbly Basin, an area that offers plenty of aquatic adventures, missions, and new Pokemon and customization options to discover. In order to unlock the DLC and use the new Dive ability, there are a few things that players must complete first. Here’s how to start Bubbly Basin and learn Dive in Pokemon Pokopia.
The Pokemon Pokopia update is broken up into 3 separate parts.
Part 1 includes the new area, Bubbly Basin, and, with it, comes a free DLC content update that will grant all players the special move Dive, which will be available for them to learn. With the new and free move, players can freely traverse their new aquatic environments and build underwater if they wish to do so. While the ability will be free, players are still required to complete the quest “Raise the environment level” in Bleak Beach to learn the ability. Regardless of whether the expansion pass is purchased, this move is available to ALL players. Once the mission is completed, players will be granted access to Bubbly Basin’s underwater gate.
Note: The move Dive is free and you can build underwater for free as well. The new region “Bubbly Basin” is not free.
Part 2 won’t be available until sometime in late 2026, but it is said to include new accessories, additional furniture pieces, and the appearance of new Pokémon. Part 3 will have a whole new town, among other features, to explore, but it won’t be available until sometime in 2027.
