The Shiny Catching Mechanic in Pokemon Legends Z-A is simply the AutoSave that is in the game. On Twitter/X, known leaker @CentroLeaks describes how this works.
As you can see, there is a way for you to actually make it so that, theoretically, every Pokemon in your game could be a Shiny Pokemon. We do not know if the legendaries are Shiny-Locked yet or not but we do know that Shiny Alpha Pokemon are very much in the game.
Also do not worry about losing a Shiny Pokemon due to Day and Night changing.
Aside from this, there have not been any other methods that have been found. It is possible that the Masuda Method could work but that feels unlikely as Breeding is not confirmed to be in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
The best way to do this is to get the Shiny Charm. Luckily, we know the exact way to do this and you can find that in the article below.

There have been many people who have been upset at Autosave being in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Not necessarily because of it being in the game but more so the fact that you cannot turn it off. This has led to plenty of controversy and will be something worth watching. Will The Pokemon Company decide to change it or will they ignore the requests of many upset fans?
