That is right, almost unbelievably, you will have to trade with someone else to get your Huanter to evolve. This does mean that you will need Nintendo Switch Online, which is a paid service. Luckily there are a few options.

If you do not have someone to trade with or want to risk getting your shiny Machoke stolen by a random trade partner, you can go find a Machamp elsewhere in Pokemon Legends Z-A.

You can find an Alpha Machamp in Wild Zone 20, which is at the end of the game. It will be level 64 or 65 and will be very tough. Sadly, this is the only chance you have to get an Machamp without trading.
