

Pokemon Legends Z-A has completely overhauled battling, allowing trainers to duke it out in real time alongside their Pokemon. But, for moves like Protect, how will this work? In Pokemon Legends Z-A, Protect requires timing from the trainer to successfully block an incoming attack. This means that you will need to keep an eye on the projectile of the attack, or the Pokemon’s animation, if it is in close range.

This is the first instance of a parry-like move in a Pokemon game, so getting used to it may require some time and practice. Alternatively, this may make Protect much less appealing to players who are considering using it for its previously dominant strength in battles (especially doubles). The choice is yours!
