No, sadly you cannot turn off Auto Save in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
This is a bit of a surprise, especially considering that you are still able to manually save the game. The question then becomes, why have people been so upset about this?
One of the big issues that people have with autosaving is that they were worried that it might affect their Shiny Hunting. Luckily, The Pokemon Company thought ahead about this. When a Shiny Pokemon gets loaded into Legends Z-A, it will stay there until you either catch it or defeat it.
This is true up to a point. Because the first thought we had was, “can you have all shiny Pokemon in the game?”. According to dataminers, the game will load up to 10 different Shiny Pokemon. Then, once this threshold is hit, it will replace that first shiny with another one and so forth.
Shiny Hunters are eating good with this change. You can find out how to up your chances with some other articles we have written below as well.
