Steelix has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The physical tank build is the standard option, while the Mega build gives Steelix stronger stats and more offensive pressure.
This is the main Steelix build. It uses massive Defense to handle physical attackers and return pressure with Ground and Steel-type moves.

Steelix stats are shown below for easy comparison.
Leftovers is the best general item for defensive Steelix sets because it improves long-game staying power.
Steelixite is the best item for the Mega build because it gives Steelix stronger bulk and attacking value.
Steelix works best with Pokemon that cover its weaknesses, support its preferred speed control or help it find safer turns.
Steelix is strong against Electric, Rock, Poison, Fairy, Steel and many physical attackers. It can wall several contact-based threats.
Its Steel typing gives it strong defensive value into Fairy and Dragon-type pressure.
Steelix is threatened by Fire, Water, Fighting and Ground-type attacks. Special attackers are especially dangerous because Steelix is more physically defensive.
Steelix can learn Steel, Ground, Rock, Dragon and coverage moves across different Pokemon games. Use the section below to view the full move list by learn method.
