Pokemon Champions Build Guide

Best Pikachu Build in Pokemon Champions

Pikachu is best used as a fragile Electric-type attacker in Pokemon Champions. Its strongest build relies on Light Ball to make Pikachu hit much harder than its tiny body has any right to.

Best Pikachu Builds in Pokemon Champions

Pikachu has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The Light Ball attacker build is the strongest damage option, while the Focus Sash support build is better when Pikachu needs to guarantee one useful turn.

Build 1: Light Ball Electric Attacker

This is the main Pikachu build. It focuses on fast Electric damage and priority pressure while accepting that Pikachu is not here to take hits.

Item Light Ball
Ability Static or Lightning Rod
Nature Timid, +Speed and -Attack
Moves Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Grass Knot, Protect
Stat Point Spread Sp. Atk: 32 / Speed: 30

Build 2: Focus Sash Utility Pikachu

This version gives Pikachu a more reliable support turn. Use it when your team wants Electric pressure, Fake Out or disruption without relying fully on Light Ball damage.

Item Focus Sash
Ability Lightning Rod
Nature Jolly, +Speed and -Sp. Atk
Moves Fake Out, Nuzzle, Volt Switch, Protect
Stat Point Spread Attack: 12 / Sp. Atk: 18 / Speed: 32

Best Items for Pikachu

Light Ball is the best item for the main build because it dramatically increases Pikachu’s offensive output.

Focus Sash is the best support option because Pikachu is frail and needs help surviving long enough to do anything besides become a cautionary tale.

Best Pokemon to Pair with Pikachu

Pikachu works best with Pokemon that cover Ground-types and benefit from Lightning Rod or speed disruption.

Blastoise

Appreciates Electric redirection and helps threaten Ground-type Pokemon.

Gyarados

Benefits from Lightning Rod support and pressures Ground-types.

Venusaur

Handles Ground and Water matchups while Pikachu pressures Flying and Water-types.

What Pikachu Is Good Against

Pikachu is strong against Water and Flying-type Pokemon. It can also disrupt faster teams with Nuzzle or pivot with Volt Switch.

Lightning Rod sets can protect Electric-weak partners and punish careless targeting.

Potential Counters for Pikachu

Pikachu is threatened by Ground-type attacks and almost any strong neutral hit. Bulky Grass and Dragon-type Pokemon can also limit Electric damage.

Garchomp

Immune to Electric attacks and threatens Pikachu with Ground damage.

Venusaur

Takes Electric damage well and threatens Pikachu with bulk and Grass pressure.

Steelix

Ignores Electric pressure and can remove Pikachu with Ground-type attacks.
