Best Machamp Builds in Pokemon Champions

Machamp has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The Guts attacker build is the strongest offensive option, while the bulky utility build gives teams a slower but steadier physical threat.

Build 1: Guts Physical Attacker

This is the main Machamp build. It uses Guts to punish status and turns Machamp into a dangerous wallbreaker that can trade into bulky teams.

Item Flame Orb
Ability Guts
Nature Adamant, +Attack and -Sp. Atk
Moves Close Combat, Knock Off, Bullet Punch, Protect
Stat Point Spread HP: 20 / Attack: 32 / Sp. Def: 10

Build 2: Bulky No Guard Attacker

This version focuses on reliability. No Guard makes Dynamic Punch consistent and gives Machamp a disruptive attacking role.

Item Sitrus Berry or Assault Vest
Ability No Guard
Nature Adamant, +Attack and -Sp. Atk
Moves Dynamic Punch, Rock Slide, Knock Off, Bullet Punch
Stat Point Spread HP: 28 / Attack: 28 / Sp. Def: 6

Best Items for Machamp

Flame Orb is the best item for the Guts build because it activates Machamp’s Attack boost and makes status much less punishing.

Sitrus Berry or Assault Vest are safer options for bulkier sets that want to stay on the field longer.

Best Pokemon to Pair with Machamp

Machamp works best with Pokemon that cover its weaknesses, support its preferred speed control or help it find safer turns.

Clefable

Redirects attacks and helps Machamp take safer turns.

Gengar

Pressures Psychic and Ghost-type Pokemon that threaten Machamp.

Arcanine

Provides Intimidate support and helps Machamp survive physical attackers.

What Machamp Is Good Against

Machamp is strong against teams that rely on Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice and Dark-type Pokemon. Its Fighting-type damage gives it strong pressure into bulky defensive cores.

Priority from Bullet Punch also lets Machamp finish weakened threats before they can move.

Potential Counters for Machamp

Machamp is threatened by Psychic, Flying and Fairy damage. Fast special attackers can remove it before it gets full value.

Alakazam

Fast Psychic-type attacker that can pressure Machamp before it moves.

Pidgeot

Flying-type pressure makes it difficult for Machamp to stay on the field.

Gengar

Immune to Fighting-type attacks and can threaten Machamp with special damage.
