Forretress is best used as a bulky utility Pokemon in Pokemon Champions. Its strongest builds focus on defensive support, Steel-type resistance and slow pivoting.

Forretress has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The bulky utility build is the safest option, while the offensive tank build gives it more direct pressure.
This is the main Forretress build. It uses high Defense and support options to help teams manage physical attackers.

Leftovers is the best item for long defensive games because it gives Forretress steady recovery.
Rocky Helmet punishes contact attackers, while Assault Vest helps offensive tank sets.
Forretress works best with Pokemon that cover its weaknesses, support its preferred speed control or help it find safer turns.
Forretress is strong against Grass, Psychic, Ice, Rock, Dragon and Fairy-type Pokemon. Its typing gives it many useful resistances.
Volt Switch lets Forretress create momentum even though it is slow.
Forretress is extremely threatened by Fire-type attacks. It can also become passive if opponents avoid contact damage and ignore its utility.

Forretress is worth using if your team wants a bulky Steel-type utility Pokemon with slow pivoting.
It is strongest on teams that can cover its major Fire weakness.
