Pokemon Champions Build Guide

Best Blastoise Build in Pokemon Champions

Blastoise is best used as a bulky Water-type attacker in Pokemon Champions. Its strongest build is Mega Blastoise, which gives teams strong special coverage, good natural bulk and reliable pressure into Fire, Rock and Ground-type Pokemon.

Best Blastoise Builds in Pokemon Champions

Blastoise has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The Mega Blastoise build is the stronger offensive option, while the bulky support build is better when another Pokemon needs the Mega slot.

Build 1: Mega Blastoise Special Attacker

This is the main Blastoise build. It focuses on strong Water-type damage and wide special coverage, making Blastoise a steady attacker that can stay useful across many matchups.

Item Blastoisinite
Ability Mega Launcher after Mega Evolution
Nature Modest, +Sp. Atk and -Attack
Moves Water Pulse, Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Protect
Stat Point Spread HP: 20 / Sp. Atk: 32 / Sp. Def: 10

Build 2: Bulky Non-Mega Utility Water

This version gives Blastoise more defensive utility and does not rely on Mega Evolution. Use this build when your team wants Water-type bulk, speed control or support without spending the Mega slot.

Item Sitrus Berry or Leftovers
Ability Torrent
Nature Calm, +Sp. Def and -Attack
Moves Scald, Icy Wind, Helping Hand, Protect
Stat Point Spread HP: 28 / Sp. Def: 24 / Sp. Atk: 10

Best Items for Blastoise

Blastoisinite is the best item for the main build because it enables Mega Blastoise and gives Blastoise Mega Launcher. This makes its pulse and aura moves much more threatening.

Sitrus Berry or Leftovers are the best options for the non-Mega build. These items give Blastoise better staying power when it is being used as a defensive support Pokemon.

Best Pokemon to Pair with Blastoise

Blastoise works best with Pokemon that cover Electric and Grass weaknesses, benefit from its support options or help it pressure bulky teams.

Venusaur

Covers Electric and Grass-type pressure while Blastoise handles Fire and Rock matchups.

Raichu

Can redirect or pressure Electric-type threats and help Blastoise stay active.

Arcanine

Handles Grass-type Pokemon and gives Blastoise useful Intimidate support.

What Blastoise Is Good Against

Blastoise is strong against Fire, Rock and Ground-type Pokemon. Mega Blastoise also has enough coverage to pressure Psychic, Dark and Steel-adjacent defensive cores depending on its moves.

The bulky support build is useful against teams that struggle to break Water-type bulk, especially when Blastoise can slow enemies with Icy Wind or boost a partner with Helping Hand.

Potential Counters for Blastoise

Blastoise is threatened by Electric and Grass-type damage. Strong special attackers, weather disruption and Pokemon that resist Water damage can make Blastoise much less threatening.

Venusaur

Resists Water damage and threatens Blastoise with Grass-type attacks.

Raichu

Pressures Blastoise with Electric-type attacks and can disrupt its positioning.

Rotom-Wash

Resists Water damage and threatens Blastoise with Electric-type pressure.

Should You Use Blastoise?

Blastoise is worth using if your team wants a bulky Water-type Pokemon with dependable special damage and useful coverage. Mega Blastoise is the better pick when Blastoise is one of your main attackers.

The non-Mega build is less threatening, but it is flexible and useful when your team needs Water-type support instead of another full offensive centerpiece.
