Best Arbok Builds in Pokemon Champions

Arbok has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The Intimidate support build is the safer option, while the Coil build is better when your team can give Arbok time to set up.

Build 1: Intimidate Poison Support

This is the main Arbok build. It uses Intimidate, Poison-type pressure and utility moves to annoy opposing attackers, a noble calling in a deeply unserious universe.

Item Black Sludge or Sitrus Berry
Ability Intimidate
Nature Careful, +Sp. Def and -Sp. Atk
Moves Poison Jab, Glare, Crunch, Protect
Stat Point Spread HP: 28 / Attack: 18 / Sp. Def: 16

Build 2: Coil Physical Sweeper

This version tries to boost with Coil and turn Arbok into a late-game physical threat. Use it when your team can remove Psychic and Ground-type pressure first.

Item Black Sludge
Ability Intimidate
Nature Adamant, +Attack and -Sp. Atk
Moves Coil, Gunk Shot, Earthquake, Protect
Stat Point Spread HP: 20 / Attack: 28 / Sp. Def: 14

Best Items for Arbok

Black Sludge is the best item for longer games because it gives Arbok passive recovery.

Sitrus Berry is the safer one-time bulk option when Arbok needs to survive a key hit and keep supporting the team.

Best Pokemon to Pair with Arbok

Arbok works best with Pokemon that punish Steel, Ground and Psychic-types while appreciating Intimidate support.

Gyarados

Stacks Intimidate pressure and helps Arbok slow physical teams.

Arcanine

Checks Steel-types and adds more physical disruption.

Alakazam

Pressures Poison-resistant targets with strong special attacks.

What Arbok Is Good Against

Arbok is useful against physical attackers that dislike Intimidate and paralysis. It also pressures Fairy and Grass-type Pokemon with Poison damage.

Glare gives Arbok value even in matchups where its damage is not impressive, which is merciful because sometimes the snake needs a job.

Potential Counters for Arbok

Arbok is threatened by Psychic and Ground-type attacks. Steel and Poison-resistant Pokemon can also wall its main damage.

Alakazam

Threatens Arbok with strong Psychic-type attacks.

Garchomp

Pressures Arbok with Ground-type damage.

Steelix

Resists Poison damage and can punish Arbok physically.
