Pokemon Champions Build Guide
Alakazam is best used as a fast special attacker in Pokemon Champions. Its strongest build is Mega Alakazam, which gives teams elite Speed, strong Psychic pressure and flexible coverage.

Last Updated: Regulation M-2
Page Status: This Alakazam build guide will be updated when new Pokemon Champions regulations, items, buffs or nerfs change its best set.
Alakazam has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The Mega Alakazam build is the strongest attacker, while the Focus Sash build is better when another Pokemon needs the Mega slot.
This is the main Alakazam build. It focuses on outspeeding threats and dealing strong special damage before opponents can respond.
| Item | Alakazite |
|---|---|
| Ability | Trace after Mega Evolution |
| Nature | Timid, +Speed and -Attack |
| Moves | Psychic, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Protect |
| Stat Point Spread | Sp. Atk: 32 / Speed: 30 |
This version gives Alakazam a safer non-Mega role. Use it when you need fast special pressure without spending the Mega slot.
| Item | Focus Sash |
|---|---|
| Ability | Magic Guard |
| Nature | Timid, +Speed and -Attack |
| Moves | Psychic, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, Protect |

Alakazam and Mega Alakazam are shown together below for easy comparison.
Alakazite is the best item for the main build because it enables Mega Alakazam and gives it extreme Speed and special attacking power.
Focus Sash is the best non-Mega option because Alakazam is frail, and apparently even geniuses cannot tank a punch.
Alakazam works best with redirection, Fake Out support and partners that remove Dark and Steel-type threats.
Alakazam is strong against Fighting and Poison-type Pokemon. Coverage moves also let it pressure Ghost, Steel and Dark-adjacent threats depending on the set.
Mega Alakazam is especially useful against offensive teams that cannot survive or outspeed it.
Alakazam is threatened by Dark, Ghost and Bug-type attacks. Priority moves and bulky special walls can also stop it from sweeping.
Alakazam can learn Psychic, Fighting, Ghost, Fairy and utility moves across different Pokemon games. Use the section below to view the full move list by learn method.

Alakazam is worth using if your team wants a very fast special attacker that can punish Poison and Fighting-type Pokemon.
Mega Alakazam is the best version, while Focus Sash Alakazam gives similar speed pressure without using the Mega slot.
