Aerodactyl has two main builds in Pokemon Champions. The fast Rock Slide attacker is the safest option, while the Mega build gives it more offensive pressure.
This is the main Aerodactyl build. It uses high Speed to pressure Flying, Fire, Bug and Ice-type Pokemon while supporting the team with disruption.
| Item | Focus Sash or Wide Lens |
|---|---|
| Ability | Pressure |
| Nature | Jolly, +Speed and -Sp. Atk |
| Moves | Rock Slide, Tailwind, Taunt, Protect |
| Stat Point Spread | Attack: 28 / Sp. Def: 4 / Speed: 30 |
This version uses Mega Evolution for stronger physical damage and better Speed. Use it when Aerodactyl is one of the team’s main attackers.
| Item | Aerodactylite |
|---|---|
| Ability | Tough Claws after Mega Evolution |
| Nature | Jolly, +Speed and -Sp. Atk |
| Moves | Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, Ice Fang, Protect |
| Stat Point Spread | Attack: 32 / Sp. Def: 4 / Speed: 26 |
Aerodactyl stats are shown below for easy comparison.
Focus Sash is the safest item because Aerodactyl is fast but can be removed quickly by strong super-effective attacks.
Aerodactylite is the best item for the Mega build because it gives Aerodactyl stronger offensive pressure and improved Speed.
Aerodactyl works best with Pokemon that cover its weaknesses, support its preferred speed control or help it find safer turns.
Adds Intimidate support and pressures Ground-type Pokemon.
Uses Fake Out pressure to help Aerodactyl set Tailwind or attack safely.
Benefits from Aerodactyl’s speed control and Taunt support.
Aerodactyl is strong against Fire, Flying, Bug and Ice-type Pokemon. Its Speed lets it pressure many offensive Pokemon before they can move.
Tailwind and Taunt also make Aerodactyl useful even when it is not dealing the most damage.
Aerodactyl is threatened by Water, Electric, Ice, Rock and Steel-type attacks. It often needs Focus Sash or careful support to stay useful.
Aerodactyl can learn Rock, Flying, Ground, Dark and coverage moves across different Pokemon games. Use the section below to view the full move list by learn method.
Move data shown from: Pokemon Sword and Shield
