Who are the Betting Favorites to Win the Masters?

Publish Date: April 7, 2021

Golf’s most interesting week is back in April this year, as the Masters is set to begin. The Masters always produces drama and interesting results. Who are the betting favorites to win the Masters this year? Here are the odds according to Betway.

1. Dustin Johnson

It comes as no surprise that Dustin Johnson is the betting favorite to win the Masters. He is the top-ranked golfer in the world who has made nearly $6 million on tour this year. He has the experience and the is currently at the top of his game.

The Masters was moved to the fall in 2020 and Johnson was able to come out on top. Out of the eight events he has played in for the 2021 season, Johnson has four top 10 finishes. Whether looking at his 2021 success or his recent victory at the Masters, Johnson is the odds on favorite to win the Masters.

2. Bryson DeChambeau

One of the more polarizing golfers in the sport comes in at the second spot for the odds to win the Masters. He is the fifth-ranked golfer in the world right now and at 27 years old, is right in his prime years to win the event. Although he has no wins at Augusta, DeChambeau will have a lot of bets placed on him.

In 2021, DeChambeau has played in nine events and won five of them. His best finish at the Masters came in 2016 when he finished tied for 21st. In 2020, he tied for 34th at the event. While he really need to step up his game this year, DeChambeau has still managed to have the second-best odds to win the Masters.

3. Jordan Spieth

Is Jordan Spieth back? The 2015 winner of the Masters has seemingly found his swing again. He is ranked 53rd in the world, but he is coming off of a win the Valero Texas Open. His ranking is a little misleading, as he ranks 10th on the money list for the 2021 PGA season.

To go with his win in Texas, Spieth has five top 10 finishes in 14 events in 2021. He has historically done well at the Masters as well. His lowest finish was in 2020 when he tied for 46th. Other than that, he has a total of four top 10 finishes at the event. While last year wasn’t great for Spieth at the Masters, he should be back to contending this year.

4. Justin Thomas

The world’s second-ranked golfer comes in at the fourth-best odds to win the Masters. Even though he is ranked second, he has made the most money so far in 2021. Can Thomas keep his good 2021 season going with a win at the Masters?

Thomas is hot right now with five top 10 finishes in 11 events played. He most recently won the Players Championship in early March at TPC Sawgrass. Thomas has consistently improved at the Masters over his career. In his first year, Thomas finished tied for 39th. For the 2020 Masters, Thomas finished fourth and if the trend of improvement continues, he may walk away with a green jacket.

5. John Rahm

Rahm is the third-ranked golfer in the world right now and is having a good 2021. He ranks 11th in most money made in 2021, but he has still played extremely well. Winning the Masters will be tough, but Rahm could just pull through to win his first time at Augusta.

In 2021, Rahm has seven top 10 finishes in 11 events. Even though he hasn’t won an event, he is playing fairly well. He has been great at the Masters over his career. Rahm finished tied for 27th in his first year and in the three years since, he has finished in the top 10 each year. This just might be the year where Rahm breaks on through and wins the event.
