The time has come for the third major on the PGA Tour and the golf world is abuzz. The Open shifted into a lower gear with the recent press about the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro with top golfers from all over the world pulling away from the contest citing health-related concerns. While unfortunate, what was said and done is in the past and now is the time to be excited about the future of golf as the Open gets underway in the wee hours of the morning with television coverage starting at 1:30 AM EST. As I do every week, I’ve compiled a short list of golfers that I feel have a chance to make a run at the coveted Claret Jug.
