The PGA Tour and LIV Golf have decided to merge in order to unite professional golf according to multiple reports.
LIV started in 2022 on June 9. They drew players away from the PGA Tour with higher payouts and a less busy schedule. Less than a year later, the tours have decided to merge.
There are still plenty of details to be figured out, including what a schedule will look like with the tours merged. Players who left for LIV will also have to be reinstated by the PGA.
The agreement still spends negotiation by the two sides. Many of the golfers on both tours were not notified of an impending merger between the two sides.
