Patch Notes 1.41 went live on Overwatch’s PTR nearly three weeks ago on September 24, shortly after some other, smaller changes went live on September 22. These patch notes look to be incredibly impactful, bringing significant nerfs to several of the key meta heroes right now, including Sigma, Orisa and Symmetra. It also looks to bring heroes who have been out of commission for some time back to the forefront, like Winston, Tracer and D.Va.
Typically, the PTR Patch Notes go live on the PTR on Tuesday and then hit live servers two weeks later. This has been the case for nearly every set of notes in recent memory. If that trend held true, fans would be looking for Patch 1.41 to hit live servers back on Tuesday, October 8. But, as is clear by this point, that didn’t happen. So, when will they be released?
Overwatch’s Halloween Terror event typically starts around the first week of October (on the 9th in 2018 and the 11th in 2016) but is looking more and more like it is going to come out on the 15th to coincide with the Nintendo Switch release, according to rumors. Because the notes denote that there is a large download size for a remaster, it would make the most sense, at this point in time, to have them come out on Tuesday, October 15.
Once these patch notes go live, be sure to check out how they affect the meta by clicking on The Game Haus’s October 2019 Tier List. Its current status does not reflect the PTR patch, but it will be updated once Patch 1.41 hits live servers.
