The Vegas Eternal are back at it again. They have opted to move on from all NA roster and are switching to a mixed roster in hopes to turn their season around. Earlier this week Vegas announced the departure of three members of the initial roster in order to make room for fresh new faces coming out of Korean Contenders.
On Monday June 26, the Vegas Eternal announced the signing of Hyeong-woo “Irony” Kim, Hyeon-woo “Toyou” Lim and Seon-woo “Knife” Lee to their 2023 roster. Irony and Knife join the Vegas roster after a strong showing in the Spring Stage Knockouts with the Contenders team O2 Blast. Toyou makes his return to the OWL stage after spending a season in Contenders playing tank for Sin Prisa Gaming.
Knife enters the league as a true rookie, previously playing for O2 Blast, Talon Esports and T1. The standout flex DPS showcased his skill set against OWL teams during the Spring Stage Knockout bracket. After dominating in Korean Contenders, Knife will now face a new challenge battling OWL squads.
Irony gets his second shot at OWL as he joins the Vegas Eternal. Alongside Knife, Irony helped O2 Blast become one of the most talented rosters in Korean Contenders. Irony spent the 2022 season with the Hangzhou Spark, where he found mixed results with a team that had high expectations. The team placed fourth overall in the Championship bracket, but Irony still was let go in the offseason. Now with a new change to prove himself, Irony will surely have his work cut out for him providing support in the back line.

Toyou, like Irony, also joins the OWL for a second time thanks to the new opportunity with the Eternal. while Toyou was called up towards the end of the season in 2020, 2021 was his first full season with the Seoul Dynasty. Toyou spent the past season and a half leveling up in Korean Contenders playing for Sin Prisa Gaming. There he served as a pivotal veteran presence and helped the team compete amongst the best that Korean Contenders had to offer.
The three new players join the Vegas Eternal at a dire time in the organizations history. The team has failed to win a match in over a year. Despite playing on high ping and in a different time zone, the Eternal are looking to these three to turn the franchise around in 2023.
