Sources: Bumper Benched in Playoffs due to a Coaching Decision

League sources have informed The Game Haus that Sang-beom “Bumper” Park was benched for the OWL 2019 playoffs due to a decision made by the Vancouver coaching staff surrounding both Bumper and TiZi’s performance in scrims. Sources confirm that Vancouver’s most recent addition, Jang-hyeon “TiZi” Hwang, was playing much better in scrims leading up to the postseason which led to Vancouver’s decision to start TiZi over Bumper.

Going Off the Grid

Speculation began to arise concerning both Bumper and the London Spitfire’s Ji-hyeok “birdring” Kim when each took their respective leave’s from social media. For Birdring, this was also paired with a cryptic and now-deleted tweet from the Cloud9 Social Media Manager, which seems to refer to birdring having an attitude issue which led to his being benched.

Bumper, on the other hand, quietly deleted both his Instagram and Facebook. Although the Vancouver main tank rarely used either of these platforms, there was still suspicion swirling as to why he would delete them at this moment in time.

Strictly Business

While league sources didn’t provide any comment into why Bumper deleted his social media accounts, they did confirm that he is still on the Titans roster and that the decision to start TiZi over him was purely a coaching decision based on performance. As of right now, there is nothing else to report on the situation.

The Vancouver Titans have their most important game of the season on Friday, September 13 against the New York Excelsior. The winner of this match punches their ticket directly to the Grand Finals, while the loser has to crawl through the trenches of the Loser’s Bracket.

In the meantime, The Game Haus will continue to monitor Bumper’s situation and provide any updates as they come available.
