Féfé joined the team mid-October coming from the Paris Eternal. After previous Eternal head coach Julien “daemoN” Ducros moved to the Dallas Fuel as an assistant coach, Féfé attempted to keep the Eternal from flaming out. Though the team fought hard, they would have to settle for a 14th place finish at 11-17.
Going into the offseason, Féfé made the move to the Toronto Defiant and had acquired some promising players such as Lane “Surefour” Roberts and Andreas “Nevix” Karlsson. The moves were received positively and the Defiant were projected to become a solid “middle of the pack team”. They even acquired an early win against Féfé’s old team who were also touted to become a much stronger squad.
Unfortunately, the Defiant would struggle to find many more wins afterward due to a misunderstanding of the pre-Hero Pools meta. Losing to the likes of the Houston Outlaws, Florida Mayhem, Philadelphia Fusion and Atlanta Reign, the Toronto Defiant are still showing shades of last season’s struggles.
While COVID-19 has understandably forced the Overwatch League and its teams into a frenzy, it is clear that the Defiant need to make changes where ever possible in hopes to keep a playoff run alive. We here at The Game Haus wish Félix, the Defiant and the rest of the Overwatch League the best of luck in these trying times.
