Late into Tuesday’s player transaction action, the Toronto Defiant twitter announced the departure of team Strategic Coach
Dong-wook
“Don”
Kim.
Vice President of Content and Communications for OverActive Media, Paulo Senra explained that Don’s departure was a mutual decision between him and the Defiant. The team is immensely grateful for his contributions and they wish him well in his future esports endeavors.
Don was brought in to lead team reviews alongside Assistant Coach
Yun-ho
“Bubbly”
Cho,
Team Analyst
Dennis
“Barroi”
Matz and Head Coach Beom-joon
“Bishop”
Lee for the Defiant’s inaugural season. The coaches worked closely with Bishop to ensure clear concise communication between the staff and their players. The efforts of the veteran coaching staff, hand picked by Bishop himself, helped lead Toronto to an impressive 5-2 Stage 1 playoff berth.
Having experience in both the Overwatch League and the pro PUBG scene, (Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds) Don certainly has the credentials to be on his way to a prosperous new endeavor. He will no doubt be successful wherever his next path leads. #RiseTogether
