hero pools

Everyone’s friendly neighborhood LA Valiant writer is back and here to give you his prediction for…..OWL Week 10? With the Valiant off this week it is a good time to reflect on the rest of the league and see who is going to win. Welcome to the week 10 predictions.

Hangzhou Spark vs Chengdu Hunters

Hangzhou Spark 2020 Season Preview
Ben Pursell For Blizzard Entertainment

This will be one of the better matches in the Asian region this weekend. Their first matchup resulted in a thrilling 3-2 matchup where the Spark managed to reverse sweep the Hunters in a close series. This matchup looks to not disappoint once again. Leave and Jinmu have proven to be a formidable duo and the Spark are two and two while going to map five three times. Ameng and the Hunters will roll to a five map classic win.

Prediction: 3-2 Hunters

Guangzhou Charge vs Vancouver Titans

The Titans first matchup back in Asia will be a matchup vs the Charge. The battle of blue shades looks to be exciting, but that is hopeful. The Titans are more talented at every position, except maybe hitscan, compared to the Charge. Titans should roll into their return to action and defeat the Charge easy.

Prediction: 3-0 Titans

Philadelphia Fusion vs Paris Eternal

This is one of the three best matchups this weekend. The Fusion look to get revenge on the Eternal who beat them in a final fight, map five, third point scenario. This is a wildly different scenario from the last time though. The Fusion now have Heesu ready to roll. The former Runaway DPS flexed on the Washington Justice last week in his debut and that may continue. During their loss to the Eternal, the Fusion were forced to run Ivy on Soldier: 76 instead of Heesu. If Heesu was eligible, that matchup is likely completely different. That being said, this will be very competitive with the Fusion exacting revenge over the Eternal.

Prediction: 3-2 Fusion

Boston Uprising vs Houston Outlaws

Toilet Bowl part deux anyone? Honestly the Outlaws should look much better in this matchup compared to the previous one. They have stopped rotating flex supports, Blase has looked very good since the Outlaws settled in on Doomfist. Boston should be around in this matchup, but they likely won’t win. They will ultimately give the Outlaws a run for their money but ultimately lose because of Blase.

Prediction: 3-2 Outlaws

Washington Justice vs Dallas Fuel

This one should not even be a contest. The Dallas Fuel are simply as or more talented at every position, except off tank, compared to the Justice. Decay is only beginning his reign of terror and should have a very interesting matchup vs Corey. That being said, Corey is not talente enough to hard carry his team to a win here. Gamsu should be able to roll over Roar and the Justice as a whole to claim victory.

Prediction: 3-1 Dallas Fuel

Chengdu Hunters vs Vancouver Titans

On paper this looks like the Titans should roll, but do not underestimate Chengdu. They ran the Titans very close last season and nearly ended their undefeated run before the Valiant did so. The Hunters throw teams that have a set plan and are used to the flow of things and make them work for their wins. Now that Wrecking Ball is back Ameng can be a nuisance to Twilight and Slime. That being said, Vancouver still wins.

Prediction Titans 3-1

Guangzhou Charge vs Shanghai Dragons

In a matchup between two of the preseason favorites, the Charge look to get redemption from the first week of play. In their 3-0 loss to the Dragons it felt like they lost more than Shanghai won. Too many times they were too slow to react or change comps vs the Dragons. It will be interesting to see what the Charge come up with, but they likely will still lose. The Dragons are pretty good.

Prediction: 3-1 Dragons

Toronto Defiant vs Houston Outlaws

Overwatch League Power Rankings

This is not the most fun matchup. Both of these teams feature players who love playing Doomfist but there will be no Sombra or Ana available. Both tanks are better at Winston than Reinhardt. Both support lines have one nice peace and then an ok one. The teams are pretty much a mirror of each other. Who knows who is going to win this. In a perfect world, Houston’s talent wins out in a close series that makes this otherwise boring match entertaining.

Prediction: 3-2 Outlaws

Philadelphia Fusion vs Atlanta Reign

In one of the most anticipated matchups before the season started, these two teams finally get to battle. Two of the best DPS lines in OWL get to go head to head in what should be a thrilling matchup. Carpe vs Edison, Sharp, or BabyBay looks to be a thrilling histcan matchup. The battle of the support lines will be especially intriguing considering Funnyastro’s ties to the Reign. Ultimately, the matchup likely comes down to the tank matchups, which team likely gets more out of their tanks. That is likely the Fusion considering that their entire starting six has a sub five deaths per 10 minutes. Atlanta makes it close, but Fusion outlast the Reign

Prediction: 3-1 Fusion

SF Shock vs LA Gladiators

Can you say revenge match? Last time these two teams played, the Gladiators shocked the community and pulled off a 3-1 upset over the defending champs. That was with Lucio banned. Now that Lucio is back, the Shock look dominant again. DVa being banned may nerf ChoiHyoBin somewhat, but that also nerfs Space. In the end, the Shock exact revenge in a fun match that will surely please the fans

3-1 Shock
