The Philadelphia Fusion Release Neptuno

Publish Date: October 21, 2019

Today, the Philadelphia Fusion announced that they have parted ways with Alberto “neptuNo” González.

Since the beginning, neptuNo has always been a key figure on the Fusion’s roster. An incredible main support, neptuNo made a name for himself early as one of the deadliest Mercy players in the league. This season, fans primarily saw him on Lucio. Working alongside Isaac “Boombox” Charles, the duo were considered one of the Fusion’s strengths this season. Neptuno recently made headlines after a conversation between himself, Josh “Sideshow” Wilkinson and Scott “Custa” Kennedy was overheard on Sideshow’s stream. In this conversation, the trio discussed potential trades between the Toronto Defiant, Los Angeles Gladiators, and Dallas Fuel. In this conversation, neptuNo mentioned that the Defiant did not trial him due to concerns about his toxicity.

As of now, the Fusion have not made any announcements regarding a replacement for neptuNo.

As a reminder, all of the current offseason changes will be continuously updated in TGH’s Complete List of Overwatch League Offseason Moves.
