Sources: The Toronto Defiant Among Multiple Teams Targeting Kellex for 2020 Season

League sources have revealed that the Toronto Defiant are among multiple teams potentially interested in signing former Boston Uprising main support player, Kristian “Kellex” Keller, to their roster for the 2020 season. While there is no confirmation if the Danish main support has officially been signed, sources indicate that the Defiant are, at the very least, rumored to be interested in him.

The Defiant have been a busy team this offseason, picking up several players from across the league to fill out their roster for next season. Most recently, they officially acquired main tank player, Adam “Beast” Denton, in a trade with the Philadelphia Fusion. However, the one role they have not yet filled is the main support position, outside of two-way player Joo-seong “RoKy” Park. This makes Kellex a perfect candidate for the mostly-Western Defiant.

Other Possible Buyers

Outside of Toronto, there is no exact confirmation as to what other teams may be interested in signing Kellex. Potential teams in the market for a Western main support could include the Houston Outlaws or the Guangzhou Charge, depending on how contract re-negotiations continue to pan out for both of those teams. Otherwise, most of the league looks to either be set at that position or not in the market for a Western main support due to being a primarily Korean roster. This gives credence to the idea of Kellex landing in a place like Toronto when the dust settles.

Kellex has just recently helped lead Team Denmark to a Quarterfinals run in this year’s OWWC, losing to South Korea in an incredibly close matchup. Given this recent OWWC success and his veteran experience in the OWL, Kellex has an opportunity to start anew in Toronto surrounded by an assembly of new teammates and coaches. The only question is, where will he land?
